The 2020 Toyota Corolla and the Honda CR-V were awarded the title of 2020 Green Car of the Year in America. We'll tell you why!
Every year, the Los Angeles Auto Show is the scene of one of the most important automobile awards, the Green Car of the Year. This year was no exception, and two Japanese vehicles, the 2020 Toyota Corolla and the 2020 Honda CR-V, took home the top honours.
The 2020 Toyota Corolla underwent major changes during the year, even adding a hybrid version to the lineup. The 2020 Corolla Hybrid played an important role in this choice. Drivers in Laval, the West Island and elsewhere will appreciate its fuel consumption, which is among the lowest on the market, thanks to an average of 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres.
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid is powered by a 121-hp, 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder engine mated to a 71-hp electric power assist system. The result is amazing acceleration at the start during extended stops on the streets of Montreal. Gas-powered versions with 139 and 169 horsepower are also available.
Other changes to the 2020 Corolla include a more aerodynamic shape with a better drag coefficient, and a completely redesigned interior for greater comfort. Large front and rear windows also help improve visibility.
On the energy-efficient SUV side, the title goes to Honda's 2020 CR-V. Almost entirely redesigned for 2020, the small SUV won the title thanks in part to its new powertrain, which is 50% more fuel efficient than the previous generation.
The Green Vehicle of the Year award presented in Los Angeles is the choice of close to 60 experts from across America who voted on all the models on the market in 2020.

Not to mention a long list of comfort accessories, including the next-generation EnTune multimedia system, ensuring fun and reliability.
