The new 2021 Toyota Sienna and its hybrid version, an exceptional minivan that is as energy-efficient as it is versatile and as comfortable as it is attractive.
Say goodbye to gas versions and welcome to hybrid versions. Now in its 4th generation, the Toyota minivan will only be available in a hybrid version. The Sienna Hybrid, like the Venza for that matter, is only a tiny part of the 40 or so models, whether redesigned or new, that are part of Toyota's plan to produce only electrified vehicles worldwide by the year 2025.
Built on the new TNGA-K platform, the 2021 Sienna will be powered by a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors, which together produce 243 horsepower. The fuel consumption will obviously be revised downward, with a combined average of only 7.1 L/100 km, compared to 11.0 L/100 km with the current Sienna's 296-horsepower V6 engine.
Camping, water-skiing and fishing enthusiasts can rest easy, as the new 2021 Toyota Sienna will keep its 3,500 lb towing capacity. All-wheel drive will also be available on all versions of the 2021 Toyota Sienna. You'll notice its new look, much more elegant and incisive, which is styled after the Japanese Shinkansen high-speed trains, the main inspiration of designers at Toyota.
The new hybrid minivan will also have a high-end version, the Platinum. This one will be equipped to the max, with absolutely brilliant features such as a rear-seat vacuum cleaner and refrigerator, super practical for small spills and a refreshing drink, captain's chairs with leg rests in the second row, an 11.6-inch touch screen, a colour head-up display with navigation, a 12-speaker JBL audio system as well as 4-zone automatic climate control, in short, the ultimate in luxury!
While its pricing and release date are still unknown, the Sienna Hybrid certainly promises to make a lot of families happy.
