A luxury sedan 

The 2023 Toyota Crown is a luxury sedan with a bold style that is only offered with a hybrid powertrain. It welcomes its passengers in an incredibly refined and quiet interior, loaded with the latest cutting-edge technologies. 

With a raised suspension that offers a ground clearance that is 4- inches higher than the Camry, tall fenders, plastic protectors at the bottom of the doors and an all-wheel drive system, this 2023 Toyota sedan integrates certain features found on SUVs. 

Regardless of the trim level, all 2023 Crown will be equipped with the newest Toyota multimedia system as well as the TSS 3.0, the most recent version of the Toyota Safety Sense driver assist technologies.

The Limited version also includes multi-beam LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated leather upholstered seats as well as an 11- speaker JBL sound system. 

The high-end Platinum trim level of the 2023 Crown also offers dual-tone body colors, an adaptive suspension and 21- inch wheels.  The interior includes LED ambient lighting that –other than the regular overhead light- lights specific zones like areas for the feet, cup holders, USB ports and door handles.  The Crown Platinum also includes the Digital Key function, allowing you to use your smartphone like a remote to unlock front doors and start your 2023 Crown’s engine. 

The 2023 Crown: Some of the outstanding features

The 2023 Crown offers the choice between 2 engines.

• A 2.5 L 4- cylinder engine, 2 electric motors, a high-efficiency bipolar nickel-metal hybrid battery and an electric all-wheel drive system (2023 Crown XLE and Limited).  This powertrain provides you with 236 horsepower, and fuel consumption numbers for a city/highway average are only 6.2 L/100 km. 

OR

• A 2.4 L inline 4- cylinder turbo engine, 2 electric motors, a 6- speed Direct Shift automatic transmission, an eAxle rear axle and an evolved all-wheel drive system that spreads power between front and rear wheels from 70-30 to 20-80 (2023 Crown Platinum).  This powertrain offers 340 horsepower.  Even with so much power, the 2023 Toyota Crown Platinum limits city/highway fuel consumption to only 8.4 L/100 km. 

The 6- speed Direct Shift automatic transmission on the Platinum also includes a new multi-disc hydraulic clutch system with humid start. On top of the NORMAL, ECO and SPORT driving modes –that come standard on each Crown- the 2023 Crown Platinum also includes 3 extra driving modes: 

• The SPORT+ mode, which improves steering response, flat cornering and stability
• The COMFORT mode offers a more supple drive for passenger comfort
• The CUSTOM mode allows the driver to adjust the system settings by creating a safety profile that is adapted to his/her driving habits.

The all-new multimedia system on the 2023 Crown 

The 2023 Crown’s all-new multimedia system’s Bluetooth technology integrates a wide array of connectivity:

• Drive Connect includes Info Cloud navigation, wireless real-time map updates, an intelligent assistant who answers to vocal commands and to whom you can dictate text messages in a natural speech, who also looks for different itineraries and Google points of interest. 
• Safety Connect includes a call button for assistance in case of emergencies, 24/7 road side assistance, collision notification and locating a stolen vehicle. 
• Service Connect gives you information about the health of your Crown hybrid.
• A 12.3- inch touch screen
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

TSS 3.0 evolved driver assistance systems

All 2023 Toyota Crown come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes:

• A pre-collision system (PCS) with pedestrian and daytime cyclist detection
• Oncoming vehicle detection in intersections
• Lane departure alert with steering assistance
• Dynamic radar cruise control
• Lane tracing assist
• Automatic high beams
• Rear passenger reminder.
