The Toyota Highlander is a versatile SUV. For 2020, it changes its style and comes back with an improved hybrid. Discover all its details!
The 2020 Toyota Highlander: a new personality
Crossover enthusiasts in Montreal, Laval and the West Island have long appreciated the Toyota Highlander. This popular vehicle, versatile and cost-efficient, will be even more efficient since the 2020 Toyota Highlander was completely redesigned.
Underneath the hood of this new version, the Toyota Highlander and its sibling, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, house a new generation of the TNGA platform (Toyota New Global Architecture), a structure also found in almost every Toyota model. This platform has proven itself as well and allows hitherto unrivalled sturdiness for the Japanese manufacturer.
Revamped Style
Physically, it’s an all-new generation of the Highlander that was born in 2020. It is bigger by about 5 centimetres, which adds to the already abundant leg room in the vehicle’s interior.
The front grille, the more athletic and mature lines, the sculpted lateral panels and the redesigned power rear door, including the spoiler that is more prominent than ever, all these elements give the 2020 Highlander a decidedly more imposing profile, and less anonymous. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid also benefits from this aesthetic rejuvenation.
The interior was also revised. In the cockpit regally sits a new large-sized display that groups together the comfort and entertainment controls, also now including the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay applications.
The gas version of the 2020 Toyota Highlander reconnects with the 3.5-litre V6 engine that we already know, which maintains its towing capacity of 5,000 lb. On the menu, 295 horsepower, an 8-speed automatic transmission and the standard all-wheel drive on all versions, except for the entry-range variant.
A new version of the 2020 Highlander Hybrid will use an electric motor and a 4-cylinder engine, for a total output of 240 horsepower and a towing capacity of 3,500 lb, all of this with the all-wheel drive as it should be.
The new 2020 Toyota Highlander will travel along the roads of Montreal, the West Island and Laval during the next upcoming weeks. However, fans of Toyota SUVs will have to wait a few months to drive the 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. But a small visit to your Spinelli Toyota dealer will allow you to find out about all its details and innovations.
